One of the reasons why the official album sounds so low fidelity and muffled is because, before the release, the master tapes were destroyed in a flood at RZA's home and so they had to use a cassette instead. It wasn't actually intended to sound that veiled. I remastered the original CD using the promo 12" clean album as well as vinyl singles for reference as these were sourced from the masters. there was a japanese remastered CD but it wasn't done well, very loud with clipping and doesn't try to restore the highs
